Today the whole Year 3 Middle Syndicate held their own classroom Art Exhibitions. It was a success! Every piece of artwork was for sale and it was exciting to have special guests come to see our art. Please enjoy the art work below.
We have been learning about Matariki in class. We decided to show others what Matariki means to us through our own artwork creations and then hold an Art Exhibit to display the art.
We needed to make sure we completed tasks along the way such as:
- Make a plan of our art.
- Make a draft copy of our artwork.
- Complete a final piece of art in time for the Art Exhibition.
- Choose a title for our artwork.
- Write a story about our artwork.
- Choose a frame for our artwork.

DeleteKrista said, we learnt that Matariki is about a story of 7 fish.
Nicole says, we worked really hard to do our artwork. We raised lots of money for the Middle Syndicate from the artwork.
Krista says, the parents that came to our art exhibition, some of the art work got sold because the parents bought it.
Nicole says, the parents liked all our artwork very much and I asked my Mum if I could buy Campbell's but we didn't have enough money.

DeleteThe money raised will help pay for Year 3 resources. At this stage all Year 3 classes will need to decide what exactly the money will go towards in Term 3.
Room 7 has written convincing letters about what they would like the money to go towards. They would like more balls, calculators, and an extension to the playground.

DeleteI had a great time with my family. I got to see the movie "Snow White and the Huntsman". It was a really good movie. I have nearly finished reading my book called, "Confessions of a Shopaholic". It's about a lady who is in love with shopping.
What fun things have you been doing?
I went to the moives too.I saw Ice age 4.It was a really cool moive.I went with mum,Ethan,ante haley,adam,kayla and her mum.How was that moive.
DeleteWow! That Ice Age 4 looked really good. Was it funny? I really enjoyed my movie. It is about how Snow White escaped the castle from the evil queen. The Evil Queen tries to capture Snow White but Snow White is being protected by the Huntsman.

DeleteHi Nicole, Yes, it did look funny. Mine wasn't too scary but the evil queen was a very mean lady. The dwarves were really funny in the movie.

DeleteIt is a little similar but there are few different characters and the story is changed a little too. I enjoyed it though.

ReplyDeleteIs your holiday good? I have been on the Milford Sounds Boat we saw lots of seals and went on the Arthurs pass train and saw lots of snow. We went whale watching and saw lots of whales the whales we saw was the sperm whale, we saw the largest bird in New Zealand - the Albatros bird. We have been doing lots of things and tomorrow I am going on the ferry. I saw no doplhins and no seals just looking at the view was just beautiful.

Wow Emily! It sounds like you have been having a fantastic holiday! I can't wait to see some photo's. I have never seen a whale or an albatross bird before. How big was the albatross? What did the whale look like?
